Twylite Knight had always thought of herself as a cut above the other girls who attend her New Orleans Catholic school. She made excellent grades, had an angelic singing voice, and had an older boyfriend who drove her around in his fancy car and showered her with gifts. Yet her family sees Peanut for what he really is an abusive manipulative criminal who would bring their daughter nothing but trouble. When her parents' worst fears come true, it will take a village to help Twylite realize that she is truly a survivor!
Based on the bestselling novel by Rhonda M. Lawson and directed by Fourth Dimension Film Production Company, this is an important story of sexual and mental abuse and how it can affect our youth. We invite all organizations to bring their youth auxiliaries to see this heart-touching performance.
Twylite is the culminating event for the 4th annual Black History Month Literary Weekend. Come out and enjoy this outstanding production with an even more outstanding cast!
Note: This play will involve depictions of violence. Parental guidance is recommended.
